Police in Berrien County are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who robbed and threatened to blow up a Niles bank last week.

At around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, the Chemical Bank in the 400 block of East Main St. was robbed. Officers say the culprit handed the teller a note saying there was a bomb outside and demanded money.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash, and left the bank.
Investigators did find a bag, but discovered the bomb threat was an empty one, and the area was safe.

Crime Stoppers are looking for those that were involved and are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest. All tips submitted are anonymous.
