Remembering Zachary "Talley-Man" Talley

Just a week after realizing his dream of rounding the bases at a South Bend Silver Hawks game, a very brave Elkhart teenager lost his battle with a rare neurological disorder.

Maureen McFadden first introduced you to Zachary Talley last March. He had been in Memorial Children's Hospital for over three months.

Zachary was born with a disorder that slowly started taking away his muscle control and left him susceptible to illness.

His mom, Brigid, never left his side and had the same hopes and dreams all parents have for their kids.

Sadly, on Saturday, Zachary lost his hard-fought battle.

"Zach Attack" t-shirts will be on sale Tuesday at Elkhart Memorial High School, where Zachary was a student.

Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home in Elkhart. His funeral service will be there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
