Rees not thinking about 'having a big game' against Sooners

Notre Dame will need a big performance out of quarterback Tommy Rees on Saturday in order to knock off Oklahoma. Rees has experienced just about every scenario is his four years at Notre Dame, beginning his careers with wins at Notre Dame Stadium, Yankee Stadium and the LA Coliseum.

This will arguably be Rees' biggest challenge and it comes at a crucial time for Notre Dame. The Irish are 3-1 still in search of an identity facing a Sooners team that is undefeated.

The pressure is on but Rees doesn't worry about that.

"I'm not going to think about how big a game I need to have," Rees says. "I just need to find a way to make plays when we need them and continue to move the ball on offense."

While this game is a big one for the Irish and for Rees, Tommy's teammates expect him to be calm and collective in the pocket.

"Any situation we face, you know that's he going to be able to handle it and we can count on him," center Nick Martin says.

Countdown to Kickoff gets you started at 2:30 on Saturday on WNDU-TV and with the Irish and Sooners to follow at 3:30.
