Midwest Energy Cooperative is spreading some holiday cheer through, what they are calling their “random acts of community kindness attack.”
Their staff has been surprising people across the southwest Michigan area with acts of kindness. Thursday, people in Cass County were the receiving end.
"Midwest energy wanted to do volunteering, supporting the community by handing out flowers downtown to local business owners and any customers that are out and about,” said Nicole Barfell of Midwest Energy Cooperative. "You know, a lot of people are shocked, a little standoffish because they're not sure if we're selling something. But as soon as we tell them what we're doing, they're very excited and surprised and willing to pay it forward and do something nice for somebody else."
The employees have also spread their kindness in St. Joseph and Van Buren counties.
