Students at Bremen Elementary School raced to help their education. The Race for Education program is a fundraiser to help supplement the new technology program.
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade made a pledge to run across the track for an hour. Student will begin the next school year with brand new laptops and apple devices.
This event was held to raise extra money to help pay for computer programs and other necessary accessories. The program was funded by the school's capital funds.
"I think it's going to have a huge impact,” says Larry Yelaksa the principal at Bremen Elementary School. “Our kids are a digital world. You can take a young kid, hand him a device an iPhone, iPad, Android device and they figure it out very quickly. It's the way they enjoy learning."
The fundraiser will also help pay for the cost of training the teachers and staff.
