Pure Michigan pays off for Wolverine State

Michigan's tourism campaign appears to be paying off for the Wolverine State.

The tourism department spent $13 million on the Pure Michigan campaign last year. It helped bring in 4 million out-of-state visitors. The state estimates their spending amounted to $86.5 million in tax revenue. Total visitor spending reached a $1.2 billion.

The 2014 Pure Michigan campaign ads will launch Monday, March 17.
