Elkhart, Ind. The public is invited to weigh-in on a proposed referendum for the Elkhart Community School Corporation. It would mean higher taxes, if approved.
The district has less money because of the state mandated cap on property taxes. And that's forced them to make cuts in services to students, like bus service.
Coming up next month, you can attend a public hearing on the issue. It will be on January 6 at 7 p.m. at the J.C. Rice Educational Services Center on California Road.
