No charges will be filed against Benton Harbor Mayor James Hightower by the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office, according to our reporting partners at WSJM.

Activist Ed Pinkney had accused the mayor of manufacturing evidence against him that led to Pinkney being charged with election fraud in April.

According to the Herald Palladium, the Berrien County prosecutor found no evidence of force or intimidation in the case.

Pinkney is under house arrest until he goes to trial.
