It has been over a year since the death of 13-month-old Taylor Hartung-Mann and investigators still do not have sufficient evidence to press formal charges.
In December 2011, Taylor was found unresponsive in an Elkhart apartment complex in the 700 block of W. Bristol Street. According to eyewitnesses, emergency personnel arrived at the apartment and quickly carried the baby to an ambulance where they performed CPR. Soon thereafter, Hartung-Mann was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials noted the toddler was not alone in the home. In fact, several people were also inside the apartment.
Taylor’s family members says they want to see justice done for the infant but the prosecutor’s office says that there is still not enough evidence to move forward with the case.
