SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- It was a day away from the office for Press Ganey employees.
The group spent the day volunteering at local non-profits.
Press Ganey employees volunteered at 14 different locations around South Bend, putting in about 2,000 hours of community service.
They stopped by "A Rosie Place", "The Boys and Girls Club" and "The Food Bank", as well as others.
The idea was to stress how important it is to "pay it forward".
“We get a day off paid at work to be able to volunteer, and it's just a way we can give back to our community, it's just a great day,” said Amber Farmer, Client Experience Coordinator at Press Ganey.
The food bank normally has 30 volunteers on any given day.
Today, there were 64, which helped get about five times as much work done.
