Power restored to Plymouth customers after afternoon outage

Thousands of residents were left without electricity Monday afternoon after power was knocked out to parts of Michiana.

A representative from Marshall County REMC told NewsCenter 16 that 4,800 customers lost power during the outage, which affected folks primarily in the Plymouth area.

Officials say an issue with a substation caused the outage, which occurred around 3:15 p.m..

The problem has since been fixed and power was restored after about a half an hour.
