Power outages affect Elkhart students

ELKHART Power outages in Elkhart made for an unusual school day for some students.

The power went out just after 11a.m. Tuesday, and The Elkhart Truth reports that most elementary school students had cold lunches. Students at Elkhart Memorial also had cold lunch, delivered to them in their classrooms, because the high school cafeteria was too dark.

The outage lasted two hours and affected about 1200 customers.

It was caused by a problem with an underground cable.
