All the snow is proving to be a winter wonderland for kids to play in, but it's having the same effect on animals, and not just the ones in your backyard!

The Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend is open for only a couple days this season, including this Saturday. It is open, inside and out, for those brave enough to walk around outside in these temperatures.

"It's a chance for people to come out while the zoo is closed and see who's out this time of year," says Marcy Dean with the Potawatomi Zoo. "About 75 percent of our collection is actually very winter-hearty and they're out loving the snow right now."

The zoo is open Saturday from Noon to 3 p.m. Potawatomi Zoo members get in free, otherwise admission is $5 per person.

There are two more Winter Days coming up at Potawatomi Zoo, February 12 and March 12. The zoo opens for its regular season April 1.
