The Potawatomi Zoo opened a new butterfly display this weekend featuring butterflies from exotic locations like Asia and Central America.
The display is enclosed making it possible for the butterflies to fly around freely while families learn about the animals themselves.
“It's a full emersion exhibit,” said Marcy Dean, director of the Zoological society. “You walk in and the butterflies are flying and they land on you. Kids can get right up close. It’s that close interaction that people love, they love to be in with the animals.”
Admission to the exhibit is $2 and all the proceeds go towards butterfly conservation efforts.
