A pop-up shop turned permanent is pedaling its way to the top in Downtown South Bend. Bicycle Gallery, an art gallery and tattoo shop is celebrating its grand opening at noon, Friday.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg and other local officials will welcome the new storefront to the downtown community at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Light refreshments will be served, and the community will have the chance to tour the gallery.
DTSB. Inc. representatives say the new shop represents diversity and the continuing effort to bring new faces downtown. David Martin, gallery owner, says it's been a lifelong dream to culminate his passions in a single location, and encourages others to do the same. Martin started sharing his ideas at First Friday's and through a pop-up shop during the holidays.
Bicycle Gallery is located at 127 W. Washington St. in South Bend. For more information, visit their Bicycle Art Gallery facebook page.
