Pony Rides with Santa event held Saturday

It was a day of firsts for some area kids, the first time on a horse. Some very generous horse owners teamed up with Signature Arabian Barns to provide pony rides to area children.

They decorated the barn, led kids around on their horses, and gave families a chance to meet Santa. All proceeds from the event went to a charity called Reins of Life that pairs up children and adults with disabilities with therapy horses.

“We believe that when you're given a gift it's important to give back to others,” says Kathy Sullivan, horse owner and organizer. “And all of us here have horses and we thought wouldn't it be wonderful that Santa's favorite horses had a chance to meet the children and the horses and the community. So Signature Arabian Barns said let’s bring Santa his sleigh his favorite horses and lets create a memory of magic for the families in our communities and it's been wonderful with proceeds benefiting reins of life.”

Saturday was the first Pony Ride with Santa for this group of horse lovers, but the event was so successful that they hope to do it every Christmas season.
