A boy ran from a man who was trying to lure him into his car in North Liberty on Sunday, and now police want you to be on the alert.

Around 7:30 p.m., a 12 year-old boy was approached by a white man in his mid-30’s in a dark-colored, four-door vehicle.

The man made several attempts to get the boy into the vehicle. The boy eventually got scared, ran home and told his mother.

Police are reminding parents to tell their kids to never trust adults they don’t know.

"Let them know that if they are approached the people may try luring them in with either candy, money or whatever,” said North Liberty Police Chief Mike Sawdon. “If they do not know the person talking to them don't get in the car with them."

Police are still looking for the man and ask that you call their office if you have any information about the suspect.
