CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Thursday morning update:
On 7/24/15 at 8:30 AM the Cass County Sheriff's Office was advised by the White Pigeon Police Department that Charles Rusher was found in that village.
White Pigeon Police has advised that Mr. Rusher had broken into a residence during the nighttime hours and fell asleep on a couch. The homeowner discovered Mr Rusher this morning and contacted police at 8:22 AM.
At this time the homeowner is not pressing charges and Mr. Rusher, who was not injured but is extremely disoriented with no knowledge of how he arrived at the residence, will be transported back to Cass County.
A man with dementia walked away from an assisted living facility in Cass County Wednesday night, and police are asking for help finding him.
Police say Charles Rusher, 59, was last since Wednesday around 3 p.m. at the assisted living facility at the corner of Morton Road and Glenwood Street.
Rusher is described as a white male, 5-foot-6, about 125 pounds, very tan, bald head and long goatee. He was last seen wearing a pair of gray sweat pants and gray striped shirt.
Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. said his department received a number of citizen reports after the 11:00 p.m. news aired. They reported a person fitting the description of Charles Rusher was seen walking and possibly hitch hiking along Marcellus Hwy, near Dowagiac, toward Marcellus.
Police believe he was last seen near M-216 and US 131, traveling toward Three Rivers Mi.
