A man wanted by LaGrange County Police has turned himself in after a high-speed chase led to a crash and a drug bust on Saturday night.
On Sunday, police were alerted by the family of Jason Adkins, 33, that he was considering turning himself in. At 2:30 p.m. Adkins was peacefully apprehended and subsequently booked in LaGrange County Jail where he is being held without bond.
Police arrested Adkins on multiple meth-related charges to go along with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
Just after 9 p.m. Saturday night, an officer tried to pull Adkins over for speeding. Adkins did not stop and eventually wrecked his car – crashing into trees and fence posts. As police pulled up, Adkins was seen running toward a swamp.
He left behind two passengers, Brianne Benac, 20, and Jeremy Brock, 27, who both suffered minor injuries.
After finding meth-making materials strewn throughout the car, police arrested Benac and Brock on drug-related charges.
Adkins' arrest ends an investigation that had been ongoing since May.
