MISHAWAKA, Ind. - A man is in the custody of the St. Joseph County jail in connection with a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in Mishawaka.
Patrick Talley, 22, from Cleveland, Ohio has been charged with attempted murder, and battery with a deadly weapon. Taylor allegedly shot Damario Lane, 22, and DaShaun Taylor, 22.
Talley's bond was set at $130,000.
The initial calls came in shortly after 3 a.m. of shots fired in the area of Lincolnway West and Center Street in Mishawaka.
Police were patrolling the parking lot at 100 Center Mishawaka when they heard the gunshots.
Several gunshots were fired in the parking lot between Hacienda and Sky Lounge.
Talley fled the scene at Center Street and made it to the corner of Lincolnway West and Monmoor Ave. where he crashed the car into a fire hydrant.
Two people were injured in the shooting. One victim is a man listed in critical condition. The other was treated and released from the hospital.
The case has now been turned over to Metro Homicide.
A second suspect who was in Talley's vehicle was arrested on unrelated charges and taken to Elkhart County Jail.
Local businesses are hoping to stress that the shooting took place in the parking lot and not at their establishments.
Dave Rendall, one of the owners of Center Street Pub, said he was cleaning up after last call when he heard the shots.
"All the sudden, we heard three or four gunshots and our doors were locked," Rendall said. "We took a quick look out and it was all out in the parking lot between Hacienda and Club Sky. We stayed inside until the police gave us the okay that we could go ahead and take off."
