Two armed robberies, just an hour apart, have two Michiana police departments busy looking for suspects.
The first occurred in Elkhart County at a gas station on Old U.S. 33 and Ash Road. It happened at the Phillips 66 station there around 2a.m.
The second happened in South Bend just after 3a.m. in the 6200 block of U.S. 31. Dispatchers say a man threatened a McClure Oil employee at gunpoint, taking cash from the building.
They describe him as a 5’6 – 5’8 male. He was wearing black pants and a hooded sweatshirt, as well as a white surgical mask.
Police don't know yet whether or not the two robberies are related.
If you have any information on either robbery, call Elkhart County or South Bend police.
