Drivers will have to slow down on Friday football nights in South Bend.
The Jefferson Intermediate and School Field school zone in the 400 and 500 blocks of south Eddy Street will be enforced at 25 miles per hour from 6 to 10 p.m. on football Friday nights for added pedestrian safety during games.
Police say the stretch of Eddy Street and the Cooper Bridge are noted for motorists exceeding the posted speed limit.
With an increase in pedestrian traffic for high school football South Bend Police will attempt to slow drivers down by activating the school zone flashing signals.
They say their goal is no accidents and no injuries on the roads in South Bend.
