It happened around 3:30 Tuesday morning in Three Oaks.

Police found the suspect in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Locust Road. There they saw the man swinging the bat and ordered him to get to the ground.

The man fled the scene and led police on a pursuit, where he lost control near Martin and Basswood.
