PLYMOUTH Some pro racers revved their engines at the Plymouth Speedway on Saturday night, but it was the regular season drivers who took the lead.

WKVI reports that Kenny Wallace, South Bend native David Stremme, and David Reutiman finished fifth, sixth and seventh. Ken Schrader didn't even make it to the feature because of mechanical problems.

Despite the loss, the fans loved seeing famous drivers out on the dirt, and the NASCAR pros say the dirt track is a fun break from the norm.

This fall another popular Hoosier driver is coming to Plymouth. Tony Stewart is driving his Sprint car in the Sods on Dirt Series in August.
