The man charged with stealing cattle from both an Argos farmer and the Topeka Sale Barn entered into a plea agreement on Thursday only to have it rejected in court.
Hall Sullivan lost an estimated $80,000 worth of cattle in the theft. He testified at Thursday’s hearing in Marshall County court, saying he did not think house arrest was a serious enough punishment for the perpetrators.
The judge ultimately decided that the time prescribed under house arrest was insufficient, and threw out the agreement.
Another hearing is scheduled for February 28 regarding the case.
