UPDATE: No injuries after plane makes emergency landing in Elkhart wheat field

Elkhart, Ind. An airplane made an emergency landing Thursday afternoon in Elkhart.

A Piper PA-12 plane landed in a field north of CR 12 and east of Ash Rd.

The plane was experiencing engine failure and didn't have enough power to make it to the airport.

No damages were reportedly make to either the airplane or the field.

Stacy Jo Lutes was the pilot.

She and the passenger fortunately didn't suffer any injuries.

The incident is continues to be under investigation by authorities and will be under review by the FAA.
