The fight against breast cancer was strengthened on Sunday, thanks to an afternoon of support.
More than 200 survivors, loved ones, and donors gathered at Notre Dame's annual Pink Zone Luncheon inside Club Naimoli at the Joyce Center.
The event, sponsored by the College of Science, helped raise more than $10,000 toward the university's overall goal of collecting $200,000 for breast cancer treatment and research.
Former woman's basketball and tennis head coach Sharon Drake-Pentro and former Irish swimmer Haley Scott spoke during Sunday's event.
Scott says, "Today is about hope. Today is about strength. Today is about courage and faith and coming together to support one another in this amazing community that we have."
A portion of the money collected at Sunday's women's basketball game also went to the Pink Zone effort.
