Pilot autopsy results released after Monday's Starke Co. plane crash

Starke Co., Ind. We're learning more about how a pilot died in that single engine plane crash Monday.

According to the autopsy, James Evans died of blunt-force trauma.

Our reporting partners at WKVI report he died from severe head, neck, chest and internal injuries.

The 68-year-old from Virginia, was on his way to Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

It's believed he was stopping to fuel his plane at the Starke County Airport when the crash happened.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but the FAA and NTSB have launched an investigation.
