Penn graduate dies in tree trimming accident

SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- A Mishawaka native and Penn graduate has died after a tree trimming accident.

According to Kansas First News, Steve Anson, 60, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Topeka, Kansas, when a large limb fell on him while he was trimming.

Anson had been the head baseball coach at Washburn University since 1980, and had compiled an 844-798-3 (.520) record with the Ichabods.

Washburn University released a statement on Sunday stating that Anson was "well-known and liked throughout the baseball community. It is a tragic loss for all of us."
