SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Eddy Street Commons was blocked off for a pedestrian art fair on Saturday.

It was part of a fundraiser for the Saint Joseph County Habitat for Humanity's Woman Build.

Each artist fair donated a piece of art to auction off for the Women Build fundraiser.

The money raised will go toward the group's fourteenth Habitat House in Saint Joseph County.

The women build committee is in charge of raising all the money for materials, coordinating volunteers and working with the partner family.

This year, the woman build site is turning the scene of a tragic crash into a symbol of hope.

Two years ago, Barbara Knapp was killed when a drunk driver crashed into her home on Corby Boulevard.

The home was knocked off its foundation, and the Knapp family was torn apart.

Habitat hopes that by building a new home, for a new family they will turn a tragedy into something life changing.
