It's been more than a month since severe weather ripped through Starke County, causing widespread damage across the area.
But it looks like kids in hard-hit Knox may soon have a place to play again, as the cleanup at the Knox City Park is nearing completion.
That's according to our reporting partners at WKVI radio.
Dozens of uprooted trees and downed limbs have kept residents from entering the park since that late July storm rolled through town.
Among the damage, the park's swing set.
But city officials said the park is almost clear enough to allow visitors once again, and Knox Mayor Rick Chambers said it may reopen as early as Friday
However, he said this is all hinging on the outcome of the final inspection.
