Coloma - Students attending Coloma schools are in the middle of a massive building improvement project.

In 2012, voters approved a $19.1 million bond issue for the updates.

According to The Herald Palladium, the most visible evidence is the new high school band and choir room taking shape in the northwest corner of the school.

Work is also being done on the high school kitchen, cafeteria, and auditorium. The roof height will also be increased.

At Coloma Elementary School, six new kindergarten classes are being built. Two new preschool classrooms, a new teacher lounge, secure entry system, and a new playground are also being added as part of this massive renovation.

Despite all the work, administrators say the construction has brought only minor disruptions to students.
