Friday morning’s commute was made difficult by an accumulation of snowfall overnight.

The storm that rolled across the Midwest this week struck Michiana Thursday evening, dropping at least three inches of snow in most areas and creating poor visibility on the roads.

Those in the Southeastern part of the area experienced icy patches on many of the roads and highways due to a freezing rain that permeated Thursday night’s snowfall.

The immediate South Bend region did not receive any major accident reports overnight, there were a few slide-offs called in this morning.
