Usually when you go to the grocery store, the staff bags your food for you, but not Saturday. Dozens of volunteers helped pack loads of goodies for operation care package.
Members of the Blue Star Mothers and students from Michiana boxed things such as food, movies, books and even hygienic supplies, for active duty soldiers, vets and military families.
The items came from Martin's Supermakets around the area and will be sent to those who serve us, as a token of appreciation.
"It’s just important because we're Americans and this is what we're supposed to be doing,” says Sandra Boldt a Blue Star Mother. “We're supposed to be taking care of those that are taking care of us. Well the big thing is that they find it amazing that people that don't know them care enough to send them care packages. And that's the best feeling out of the whole event."
This is the fifth year Blue Star Mother's have held Operation Care Package.
