Getting away just got easier. You can now fly non-stop from South Bend to Punta Gorda, Florida.
Wednesday was the very first such flight offered by Allegiant Air.
One-way flights are as low as $95 and hotel packages for three nights are under $400.
The new flight is part of a continued effort by the South Bend Regional Airport to offer affordable non-stop flights to leisure destinations.
The very first return flight from Punta Gorda also arrived in South Bend Wednesday with more than 100 people on board.
