One airlifted after Goshen house fire

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen Fire Department says one person was airlifted to a hospital with burn injuries after a house fire Thursday night.

Firefighters responded around 9 p.m. to a home near the intersection of S. Third Street and W. Madison. That's near downtown Goshen.

Firefighters could see heavy smoke coming from the back of the home as they approached the scene.

Neighbors say several people alerted the two families living in the home to the smoke, but there was a language barrier. They eventually got them out.

One woman had significant burn injuries and was transported to the hospital via Medflight. Firefighters don't know her condition.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the blaze.
