A bill that skated through an Indiana Senate Committee Monday, deals with public skating at Notre Dame's ice rink.
The Compton Family Ice Arena now requires each skater to fill out a legal waiver form. With 26,000 visitors in the past two years, that's a lot of forms.
The University is seeking a change in the law that would clearly spell out the rink's legal liability in civil matters, so the form could be scrapped.
The bill passed the Senate Civil Law Committee 9-0, and now moves on to the Senate floor.
