Some Irish athletes got to spend time with fans Sunday morning.
The Notre Dame chapter of Upifting Athletes held its Second Annual Bowl with the Irish event at Strikes and Spares in Mishawaka.
The event was to raise research funds for osteosarcoma, which the Irish chose in honor of Middlebury teen, Sam Grewe. Grewe lost part of his leg to the disease, but is now in remission.
Irish fans got the chance to test their skills against members of the Notre Dame football team, while raising money for a worthy cause.
The Uplifting Athletes program hopes to host more events like Saturday's in the future. They are in the process of discussing a possible lift-a-thon this summer.
