Despite below-freezing temperatures, thousands of people are expected to march on the National Mall on Wednesday for the 41st annual March for Life.
Hundreds of faculty, staff and students from the University of Notre Dame will be there. They led the march last year, carrying the giant banner all the way to the steps of the Supreme Court building on Capitol Hill.
Before the march begins at 10a.m., the Rev. John Jenkins will preside at a mass for the Notre Dame marchers inside St. Agnes Church in Arlington, Virginia.
On campus, the alumni association will sponsor a Sanctity of Life prayer service at 1p.m. at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.
This year's theme is adoption.
