Prayers for Pope Francis are being said around the world, including close to home.
A special mass was held at Notre Dame's Basilica. Although it's spring break on campus a small crowd gathered for the special mass.
A select prayer reserved for the Pope was read.
President Emeritus Father Monk Malloy gave a homily.
He says just like any person, Pope Francis is asking for prayers in his next journey as a leader of the world.
“One of the things I would say from my own leadership is that you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with,” says Malloy.
The last time a special prayer for the pope was read was for Pope Benedict when his name was announced.
