SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- It was first come, first serve for customers looking to buy the last pieces of grass still left inside Notre Dame Stadium.

Starting at 3 p.m. this afternoon fans could walk up to the stadium and buy a section of sod for $100.

“Gonna split this piece up for two of my children, then also a good friend in New Orleans whose family is alumni,” said Tom Lees who bought a section. “This is a piece of history whether it's last year's turf or this year's, it's the last time there will be grass in the stadium.”

Before today you could only buy the sod online for $150.

Today the leftover inventory was sold out.
