No one was arrested between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day for driving under the influence in St. Joseph County.

The St. Joseph County Traffic Safety Partnership says several drivers were ticketed for other driving offenses including driving while suspended, speeding and no seatbelts.

Lt. Tim Williams, Commander of the D.U.I. Taskforce of the MIshawaka Police Department said, "This is a positive start for 2013 and we would like to thank all of those who went out to celebrate on New Year’s Eve for celebrating responsibly. A special thanks to all of those who decided to be the designated driver (DD)."

Indiana State Police arrested 22 people for driving under the influence statewide.
