NILES, Mich.--- The judge that forced a woman in Niles, Mich. to be in jail for 10 days for cursing in a court room has been reprimanded.
The woman, Larue Ford, was taken into custody in December of 2012 after she cursed in the courthouse because she was upset over fines and a hold on her driver’s license.
Berrien County Judge Dennis Wiley held her in contempt of court even though he didn't witness her behavior.
Ford spent 10 days in jail, including Christmas.
She was released finally after the American Civil Liberties Union intervened.
