The hits just keep coming.
Tight end Troy Niklas is the latest Irish player to declare for the NFL Draft, Notre Dame confirmed to WNDU Thursday night.
Niklas joins nose guard Louis Nix, defensive end Stephon Tuitt and running back George Atkinson as players who elected to forego their final year of eligibility to play professional football.
It also comes on the same say that news broke that wide receiver DaVaris Daniels would miss the spring semester due to academics.
Niklas finished 2013 ranked 3rd in all three major receiving categories, finishing with 32 catches for 498 yards and five touchdowns.
With Alex Welch deciding to finish out his career at Miami of Ohio, Ben Koyack is the only tight end on the Irish roster with any experience.
Niklas received a 2nd to 4th round draft pick by the NFL Advisory Committee.
