New vaccine requirements for IN students

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) says children are the most vulnerable for potentially deadly diseases, that's why many organizations require vaccines. States determine individually which vaccines are required in schools.

In Indiana, there are several changes to vaccine requirements.

Students entering Kindergarten need two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine.

Students entering 6th grade need one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4).

Students entering 12th grade need a MCV4 booster if he or she received the 1st dose of MCV4 before their 16th birthday.
