South Bend Parks and the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County have teamed up to offer a new splash pad water playground at Potawatomi Park.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting took place Wednesday, May 22nd where Mayor Pete Buttigieg and other local leaders introduced the new Pfeil Pfountain to the public.

The splash pad represents a partnership between the Community Foundation and SB Parks and Rec Dept. with help from the city and Pfeil family. The Pfeil Pfountain is the only splash pad of six in the county to have both public and private funding.

Creators focused on a universal design with accessibility to all, specifically inviting adults of any age and kids of any ability to partake in the fun.

Since 2007, the Community Foundation and its partners have invested more than $1.4 million into Potawatomi Park, the most visited park in the county.
