SOUTH BEDN, Ind.--- We have an update to a story we've been following.
The new section of U.S. 31 being built between South Bend and Plymouth is now expected to open to traffic by the end of August.
In the beginning there will likely be some lane restrictions at the north and south ends near South Bend and near Plymouth.
Those lane restrictions won't be lifted until the end of this year.
Right now, crews are concentrating on interchanges at Kern Rd., and near Plymouth.
