Granger, Ind. It’s a new restaurant with a fairly new concept to folks in Michiana. Rocky River Tap & Table officially opened in Granger. It is located at 1032 E. University Drive. That is where Tilted Kilt used to be. It took them only five weeks to open and redesign the inside.
This is a farm-to-table restaurant meaning their focus is on sustainability, health, eating locally and organic. The owner, Kurt Janowsky says about 70 percent of the food they serve is produced locally and even more if you include their beer and wine.
Some of the craft beers you may recognize. They have beer from Iechyd Da in Elkhart, Evil Czech in Mishawaka, Bell’s in Kalamazoo, 3 Floyds in Munster and more.
Plus, the prices aren’t out of control. Janowsky says they have things like sandwiches, salads, small plates and appetizers for 7 to 12 dollars. He says they also have entrees that are between 12 to 18 dollars.
After being open for a few weeks they are getting ready to extend their hours. Starting Tuesday they will serve lunch. When that starts they will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday. They will stay open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. They are also open Sunday.
