PLYMOUTH Plymouth parents can feel a little more secure sending their children to school on the bus, now that the latest safety equipment has been installed.

Radio 1050, The Chief reports that each bus is now equipped with three video/audio cameras, panic buttons, and GPS systems.

The buses are also equipped with rear deactivation buttons. The button prevents drivers from forgetting a child on the bus, like what happened last December when a special needs child was left on the bus for hours before anyone noticed. The button requires a driver to walk to the back of the bus and push a button. If they don't do it within a few seconds, the bus horn will sound.
