New Plymouth police chief named

There's a new man in charge of keeping criminals off the streets of Plymouth.

According to our reporting partners at WKVI radio, Dave Bacon will replace Jim Cox as the city's police chief.

Bacon has been on the force for 22 years and served as the assistant chief for the last nine.

He was promoted to the department's top job last month by Mayor Mark Senter.

Bacon was born and raised in the hub of Marshall County. He says his police force is doing what it can to combat its number one problem: meth.
